Children have an incredible ability to bring change to their families, communities, and country. They have an openness to learn new things and a curiosity that leads them to ask questions and absorb new things. They have an enthusiasm about life. Teaching children about healthy habits when it comes to Sanitation and Hygiene is an incredible opportunity to not only affect the child’s life, but their siblings, parents, and community. For those who have grown up in conflict areas, it is difficult to feel that you have control over anything in life. Training children in areas of health, empowers them to have a sense of ownership over their health, a responsibility for self and an awareness to spread their knowledge with others. We pray that the children of Somalia grow in health and awareness that they can be influencers in their communities. We recognize and appreciate children as agents of change.
